Story of Futurist Watch

Futurist began as an exploration of how light shapes our perception of time.

Rather than designing a watch around static form, we focused on how surfaces, angles, and materials interact dynamically with their environment, creating a piece that evolves with every glance.

In the 1970s, the world looked to the skies with both wonder and urgency. As space exploration accelerated, technology, design, and human ambition converged in bold, expressive forms. Watchmakers mirrored this shift, embracing sharp lines, experimental materials, and silhouettes that felt shaped by the future rather than the past.

Futurist draws from this spirit of experimentation, not only as a tribute, but as a foundation for rethinking how a watch can engage with light, geometry, and space.

At the heart of the watch is a faceted sapphire crystal, its angular geometry designed to catch, refract, and modulate light, transforming the dial with every movement. Beneath it, a fumé sunburst dial with applied indices and a matching handset creates depth and contrast, allowing shifting tones to emerge as light moves across its surface. The result is a constantly evolving display, where time feels dynamic rather than fixed.

Encasing this is a uniquely textured case, its radial pattern engineered to guide and amplify the way light travels across it. Each line is precisely machined to achieve crisp definition and a controlled play of reflections, reinforcing the watch’s core design language. More than decoration, it is a continuation of the same idea, light as an active element shaped through form and material.

Every element, from the crown’s placement to the luminous markers, is considered for both clarity and comfort, balancing visual expression with everyday usability. Inspired by an era of bold experimentation, where form and function were inseparable, the design channels that spirit into a more contemporary context, where interaction, ergonomics, and perception matter as much as appearance.

This is not simply a reflection of the past, but an exploration of how a watch can engage with light, geometry, and movement, changing in character throughout the day. Futurist invites you to experience time not as something static, but as something shaped by perspective, motion, and light.
