If fashion is a cycle, then it’s time we revisited the Golden Era of Art Deco.
Based on design principles first exhibited in Paris, 1925, Art Deco remains one of the most well-known pushes into modern style and sophistication. Its clean lines and simple shapes, while used to create high-end luxury items, were not limited to the upper class. This helped its popularity spread across social and economic circles.
The United States showed particular interest in the movement, and its influence led to the creation of the Empire State Building as we know it today. The tallest building in the world from the time of its completion in 1931 until 1970, its geometric exterior and ornate gold and silver interior designs have made it an iconic masterpiece that still draws millions of visitors, decades after its creation.

Vario Empire is a gorgeous homage to this era in design history. From the understated guilloché dial and bold yet elegant lettering, to the simple yet distinctive geometry of the hands, you’ll find it embraces the same sweeping beauty that sits in the halls of the Empire State in New York. There are many ways to exude luxury, and the Vario Empire taps into this Art Deco movement to find innovative ways to, represent luxury, glamour and exuberance.
We’ve opted out of impersonal stock parts, choosing instead to give each watch in the collection its own custom-made case, dial, crown, and hands for visual drama. We’ve also pared down the pronounced horn lugs for a more refined, contemporary look. At its core, the sapphire glass-covered Seiko VK64 MecaQuartz movement allows for an accurate time reading device with the mechanical feel of a chronograph.

*There is no moving seconds hand for this watch, only the chrono seconds hand which will be triggered by the chrono button on top right.
Setting the time:
1. Pull out the crown to the second click position. Date function on first position is not used for this watch model.
2. Turn the crown to set the hour and minute hand.
3. Check that AM / PM is set correctly by looking at the 24-hour sub-dial in the 3 o’clock position.
4. Push in the crown to the normal position.
Using the chronograph:
Your Art Deco Dress Chronograph features a stopwatch that can measure up to 60 minutes.
1. To start the chronograph: Press the upper pusher. The chronograph hands will begin to move.
2. To stop the chronograph: Press the upper pusher again. The chronograph hands will stop and indicate the elapsed time. (Read the elapsed seconds on the large central hand and minutes on the sub-dial in the 9 o'clock position).
3. To reset the chronograph: Press the lower pusher to reset the chronograph. All the chronograph hands will be reset to "0” position.
What is MecaQuartz?
Mecaquartz chronographs use movements of a hybrid construction. These movements join a quartz-regulated electronic timekeeping engine and a mechanical chronograph module. Mecaquartz chronographs have the accuracy and stability of quartz, the handling of a mechanical chronograph, and a physically compact package.

Some earlier customers who have gotten their Chrono with this caseback should note that this is not a screw down caseback. It is a snap-on caseback but the opening tab is very thin and caseback is much tighter than those 3ATM casebacks. Customers should contact us for a caseback replacement when their batteries are dead and we will replace the batteries for free and change out to the correct casebacks. Alternatively, we can send the correct casebacks to customers who are experienced or have their own watchmaker who can help.
